Partners and Volunteers acknowledged at ISCOS Appreciation Dinner


The ISCOS Appreciation Dinner, held on 7 November 2014 at Hotel Re!@Pearl’s Hill, was a huge success which received several compliments from the guests. The annual event was organised for ISCOS to acknowledge and show our gratitude towards our supportive partners and volunteers who have been extending their assistance and sacrificing their valuable time for the benefit of our beneficiaries.

Needy students receive bursaries at StarHub-ISCOS Bursary Award

A total of 203 needy students were eligible for the Bursary Awards this year, of whom 109 attended the StarHub-ISCOS Bursary Award Ceremony on 5 December 2014. The bursaries served as rewards to the students for receiving above average results in their final examinations this year despite less than ideal family situations. A total of $80,000 worth of bursaries sponsored by StarHub was distributed at the annual event held at the auditorium of Queenstown Community Centre.

ISCOS' Gift of Hope Package empowered by StarHub

On 9 October 2014, StarHub’s Chief Marketing Officer, Ms Jeannie Ong, presented ISCOS members with additional items in the ISCOS’ Gift of Hope (GOH) package at StarHub Green. In addition to the original items like a NETS FlashPay Card and vouchers for food and groceries, StarHub contributed the gift of a free pre-paid SIM card and two free top-up cards. The total value of the enhanced GOH package is $50. The GOH was also presented in a new sling bag provided by StarHub.

Achievements and new initiatives presented at ISCOS Workplan retreat

A successful ISCOS Workplan retreat on 30 September 2014 saw new initiatives and many suggestions to improve work processes for 2015. Individual divisions took turns to present their achievements of 2014 and proposed new developments for the coming year.
Games and activities were also conducted throughout the day with the aim of team-building and motivational goal-setting.

 

Mentors and their mentees reflect at Big Group Activity Closure

To mark the end of the mentoring programme between mentors and mentees for the year, ISCOS held a Big Group Activity Closure session on 1 November 2014. The session was a form of recollection on the importance of the budding relationship between mentor and mentee throughout their mentoring journey. Each participant was encouraged to reflect on the ups and downs throughout the year.
