Dear Admissions Friends,

My name is John Viscount and I am the creator of Admissions. I’m reaching out to you to thank you for opting in and watching our film. I am very grateful that you took the time to do that and hope the experience was rewarding for you.

I originally wrote Admissions as a response to 9/11. After that tragedy, I felt inspired to put out a more compassionate interpretation of life’s events so people could find a pathway to forgiveness no what the world served up. We were fortunate to get the script to Academy Award® nominee and peace activist, James Cromwell, and after a wonderful hour-long phone conversation going over it word for word, he agreed to play the starring role.

We then raised funds on Kickstarter and made the film and I dedicated it to the creation of peace departments in governments worldwide. This made James happy because he had worked on the United States peace department campaign. Today, Admissions continues to be shown worldwide and has been fortunate to win 25 international awards and been translated into 5 languages.

To help us get the film and its healing message out to more people in these conflict-ridden times, we would be very grateful if you would share this free viewing link of Admissions with everyone you know and ask them to do the same. It is our “Gift of Peace” to you and everyone with which you share the film.

I’m also starting a screening and discussion tour with the film. Please read on for more details. If you know of any school, company or organization that might be interested, we would be grateful if you would send us an email.

Thank you again,

Admissions Screening Followed by Q & A with Film’s Creator

“This is an AMAZING FILM. Easily my favorite film of the year.”
Sharon Stone

Admissions creator John Viscount is conducting an inspiring screening and Q & A tour, engaging audiences in enlightening discussions about violent conflict, human tragedy, reconciliation and the many insightful themes of Admissions. In the uplifting, award-winning film, Academy Award® nominee James Cromwell plays an enlightened clerk who works in the admissions room for the afterlife. He is called on to guide an Israeli couple and a Palestinian man who have suffered tragic endings. As the details of their fates become clear, the clerk attempts to teach them the wisdom required to find lasting peace.

The powerful 20-minute film has been broadcast to 80 million people worldwide and touches on a variety of difficult human emotions such as anger, despair, hatred and condemnation. It then reveals how these emotions are transformed through compassionate dialogue into understanding, forgiveness and a feeling of unity with all human beings, regardless of race, religion or nationality. Translated into 5 languages, the life-changing film hits the heart deep, leading to profound realizations in audiences and penetrating, post-screening discussions.

"I wanted to thank you for bringing the film Admissions to campus last semester. My students had suggested showing it in all my courses. This week I tried it and I was amazed. I’ve NEVER had so many students stop and ask, or email and ask for more information on a film. Many want to share the film with others. It sparked a discussion of the common theme of forgiveness and opened the door for beginning to talk about stereotypes as I asked the students to give me their first impressions when the last two people entered Admissions. I wish you the very best in your future endeavors as you are making a significant difference in the lives of love beings around the world."

Admissions & Global Peace

For those in the audience who feel moved by the film to help create more peace on earth, John will also talk briefly about the exciting Admissions partnership with PeaceNow and the United Nations Culture of Peace working groups. This alliance resulted in a global Internet petition drive to gather one billion signatures to create peace departments in governments worldwide for the benefit of all humankind. In this campaign, Admissions is being given as a “Gift of Peace” free screening to everyone who signs the petition. John was part of the writing team that drafted the official Global Resolution of this international peace department movement.

Mind What Matters. A Pep Talk for Humanity

If time permits, John will also touch on some of the important topics in his new book, Mind What Matters. A Pep Talk for Humanity. It is a powerful collection of philosophical writings and stories that address life’s most difficult challenges, and offer healing perspectives on how to remain rooted in our higher mind no matter what the world serves up.

"This exquisitely written book overflows with the kind of transformational wisdom, inspired storytelling and unexpected humor that leads to joyful communion with our higher self. For anyone looking to change their mind into a trusted ally in the search for enduring peace and happiness, Mind What Matters receives our highest recommendation."
