LAA Art Tour a Success

Written by Judy Hoffman

On June 13, 2015, the mid-century modern home of Howard and Amy Klion provided a rare treat for the 20 Leadership Arts Alumni members who were able to view the couple’s eclectic art collection housed in their Howard Meyer-designed home. The Klions’ art collection features a mix of contemporary works the couple has collected -- ranging from art showcased at their daughter’s art gallery to art created by local Dallas artists and pieces collected in New York City.

The renovated home retains the clean, open design of award-winning architect Howard Meyer who is renowned for his work in Dallas, particularly in the 1940s-1950s. The couple asked landscape architect David Hocker of Hocker Design Group to create a green space that meshes the outside seamlessly with the inside and creates more space for living and dining. Furnishings in the home, some original to the home, create a timeless feel that is current with today’s lifestyle.

Thanks to Howard and Amy for sharing their love of art along with their personal collection with attendees!
