The first NEME Fall Tour is coming soon
Maybe to a town near you?
November 2021
Michigan, North Carolina, & Texas
Bruce is excited to be descending from his Peruvian mountain hideout to speak at various NEME events in November. We would love to see you at any one of them. Or . . . perhaps head out in your Volkswagen van and attend them all!
At Duke Divinity School in Durham, North Carolina, his noon lecture on November 11 will be:
Was Luke a Christian Zionist? The times of the Gentiles, the restoration of all things, and the future of East Jerusalem.
At Calvin Theological Seminary in Grand Rapids, Michigan on November 12, he will reflect on his many trips to the Holy Land (What-I-wish-they-told-me-before-I-Went), why some Christian pilgrimage does more harm than good, and why we shouldn't choose between past and present, between sacred history and the complex realities on the ground in Israel-Palestine today.
On Sunday, November 14 at Kairos West Michigan (in Holland), he will lead a discussion on the Israel-Palestine impasse, the impact of Christian Zionism, and What Christians Can Do in the Cause of a Just Peace.
On November 17 at 8:30 am he will be sipping his morning coffee at the Evangelical Theological Society's annual meeting in Fort Worth, Texas, and reading his paper titled:
Blessing Israel as Path to Prosperity?
The Use and Abuse of Genesis 12:3 in Christian Zionism.
Finally, on November 20 at 9 am he will be presenting at the Society of Biblical Literature's annual meeting in San Antonio, Texas.
That paper has a lofty title:
Christian Zionism at 10,000 feet: Bible Reading and the Geopolitical Imagination of Neo-Pentecostals in the Peruvian Andes
If you or your church/organization would be interested in more information on attending one of those events, please contact Anna at info@neme.network.
