Ecclesiastes Sermon Series
This week Pastor Jordan Olshefski will be continuing the new Ecclesiastes series with a message from Ecclesiates 3:16 - 4:12.  For a brief introduction to the book, check out Jeff's intro on our Pastors' Blog, or catch up with previous sermons in our Sermon Archive.

Inclement Weather Plan
If we receive enough ice or snow over the weekend to make the roads unsafe, we will communicate by Facebook, Email, and Website to let you know if our Sunday morning services will continue as planned.  Please keep an eye out for an update late Saturday evening or early Sunday morning.

WE / Upcoming Events

Membership Class
Our next Membership Class is on Friday, January 29 at 7pm at our church office.  We highly value membership, as it is a biblical concept, and we want you to come to the class if you are interested in becoming a member, definitely planning to become a member, or just have more questions about what Cross Park Church is about. Please RSVP to jeff@crossparkchurch.org so we can plan for food and drink.

You're Invited to Dinner!
We will be hosting a welcome dinner for our visiting students from East Asia on January 31st at 6:30pm, at the home of Tyre and Sunny Green.  Please RSVP by this Sunday if you'd like to attend, and let us know what potluck items you could bring.

Men's Bowling Night
Dust off your bowling shoes and bring your A-game. Come enjoy some bowling fun and fellowship at Sports Connection in Ballantyne on Thurs, February 11th at 7:30pm, sponsored by Cross Park and the Men's Ministry!  Please RSVP by Feb 7th to Greg Ratzlaff at gdratz@gmail.com as we'll need to get a head count for the number of lanes to reserve.

New Men's Bible Studies
Attention Cross Park Men!  Join us for a new series, "Common Sin Struggles" in January and February.  The next meeting will take place on Friday, February 29th, at 6:30 am at the church office.  We will be discussing the topic of lust and sexual sin.  Great teaching and discussion time.  Coffee and bagels provided.  For more info, contact Jon Richardson at jrichardson@compactpowerinc.com or (803) 493-4077.

New Women's Bible Studies
Women, you are invited to join one of our Women's Bible Studies, which start up again soon.  If you are planning to join a study, please let the contact person know, so we can arrange for materials for every participant.  Check out our Women's Ministry webpage for more details, and feel free to contact Wendy Shank at wkshank62@gmail.com if you have any questions.

Officer Nominations
If you would like to nominate someone as either an elder or deacon at Cross Park you may do so by emailing his name to Jeff at jeff@crossparkchurch.org.  We will be taking nominations from February 1st to February 14th. We will also have paper nomination forms you may fill out Feb 7 and 14 at Cross Park.  You may review the Biblical standards for church leadership (1 Timothy 3:1-13. Titus 1:5-9) and remember that we are looking for the right men who are called to serve our church in these roles.  Both offices serve and lead at Cross Park, though they have different emphasis.  The deacons focus on mercy issues, financial issues, and property needs, so strengths in these areas and a heart to serve and help others serve are important.  Elders focus on spiritual direction of the church, Word and prayer, and shepherding.  Please prayerfully consider who you might want to nominate for these roles.
