Influenza activity remained elevated in Marin County
The Marin County Department of Health and Human Services conducts local influenza surveillance during flu season each year and offers periodic updates to you, our healthcare providers. 
During the last week of February, influenza was circulating widely in Marin County, with elevated influenza-like illness activity (Figure 1).  Twenty one percent of samples tested were positive for influenza. (Figure 2). 
Influenza-like illness activity:  Influenza-like illness (ILI) activity has remained elevated through the week of Mar 2, 2019. See Figure 1 below.
*Please note ILI data has not been reported from all facilities for the last three weeks.

Influenza testing: During week 9 (February 24 - March 2), 28 (21.2%) of the 137 specimens tested for influenza were positive. Of the positive specimens from week 9, 28 (96.6%) were influenza A and 1 (3.4%) was influenza B.  During this influenza season through March 2nd, 299 specimens have tested positive for influenza.  See Figure 2 below.
