Building the Network

• SSDN’s Communication Work Group has decided to start a network wide event every 6 weeks – a call or a webinar, depending on the topic– to better connect us. 
• They decided on a creative approach, where we have small update calls by region sections to keep the calls intimate and helpful. 
• Schedulers and appointments will go out to the rotating groups so everyone can be involved, informed, and benefit from each other’s input on initiatives and challenges

Funding News

• SSDN’s Glen Hadwen was recently awarded a USDN Innovation Grant to create a Mayors (Neighborhood and Business) Energy Efficiency Challenge.
• The Lyndhurst Foundation awarded SSDN $5,000 towards out May Annual Meeting.  The Energy Foundation supports network activities throughout the year.
• The Funding Committee will meet with the Funders Network in follow up to our February 13 network wide call and learn how to further hone our strategy to be effective in our growth, metrics, and value proposition.

Annual Meeting Announcement

• Our annual meeting is very valuable for keeping SSDN strong, connected, and effective.  Please prioritize this time together as a way to keep southeast cities up to speed and in lock step in our work.  
• The May Date has been postponed to allow for additional fundraising.  Stay tuned as your Funding Committee matches the new Lyndhurst grant with other funding sources, and look for a save the date for a fall or winter meeting.
