Don't Forget the Softnecks!

Huge bulbs. Long storing. Braidable. Softneck garlic is a wonderful boon to the garden and kitchen. Try Lorz Italian, California Select, and Transylvanian for the largest bulbs.
Not sure how to plant your garlic?

We can help! Watch our instructional planting video or go to the FAQ page on our website for written instructions. Garlic is planted in the fall so it's time to get your soil ready soon. You can plant up to the time the soil freezes.
Summer Garlic Festival

If you happen to be in Washington State -- we'll be at the Summer Garlic Festival in Tonasket, August 21st & 22nd!
Nimbus the Garlic Kitty has reported for duty at Great Northern Garlic adding much appreciated cuteness to the farm!
We've received so much positive feedback from our customers! Thanks to each and every one of you for supporting our small organic farm.

It's Garlic Time!

Get it while it's hot because when it's cold it's gonna be gone.

Hot summer weather is perfect for garlic drying. But when the cooler temperatures of fall come it's time for garlic planting!

Garlic shipments begin on September 1st so it's time to get your order in if you're wanting to plant this fall. We start shipping to cooler areas first, finishing up with those warmer regions in the south. We work as quickly as we can to hand select and package your garlic. You will get an email notification when your garlic ships.

Our most popular varieties tend to sell out quickly. The sooner you put in your order the better to get the varieties you want! Our seed shop is open on the Great Northern Garlic website, ready to take your orders.

Hardneck Seed Sale

Some of our jumbo Hardneck seed has already sold out, but don't despair! We've added Music, Spanish Roja, German Red, Okanogan Blue, and Asian Tempest #2 Hardneck Sale Seed to the website. #2 seed garlic is simply garlic that is slightly smaller than our jumbo seed. We had extreme drought conditions here this year and some of our garlic didn't size up as we would have liked. The garlic has the genetics to get really large but because of the less than ideal precipitation it didn't quite get there. The seed, if taken care of next year, will produce great garlic. We just feel compelled to offer a discount on it since it is smaller than we like. It's priced at a 25% discount -- an excellent value.
We so appreciated our WWOOF crew this season. It's our first year providing learning opportunities on our farm. It has been a lot of fun getting to know all of the great people who have joined us to learn about our farming way of life. Their help has been wonderful as well. Our very first WWOOFer even wrote about her experience here on her blog and posted it along with some fantastic photos.
