KINDNESS & FORGIVENESS

Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.

Ephesians 4:31-32 (ESV)

Paul is writing this scripture to a people in Ephesus that were really good at being bitter and angry and slandering one another. They were focused on getting even, always waiting for another “gotcha” moment. Does that sound familiar?

Beloved, God gave us this verse to show us a different way. He has an unstoppable way of changing the environment that we live in. It starts by being kind, tenderhearted, and quick to forgive—just as God has forgiven you. When God saved us, He broke the power of the accusations against us. He broke the cycle of offense and defense that causes us to attack others in hopes of protecting ourselves. Has that ever really worked for you? In reality, it does the opposite: it sets you up for more attack.

The Holy Spirit has a way of breaking through to the core of our offense, enabling us to receive God's grace and affirmation. Spending time with the Holy Spirit makes us kind and tenderhearted because it reveals an important truth to us: We have been forgiven. The things that other people have done to us don’t even come close to the things God has forgiven us for.

Forgiveness is the secret to having healthy families and relationships. It is the fastest way to break bitterness and bring unity in broken lives. Forgiveness restores everything.

Father, thank You for forgiving me each time I confess my sins to you, especially when I think I don’t deserve it. You have been kind and tenderhearted to me. Fill me with Your kindness and Your tenderness toward the people who have hurt me. Uproot any bitterness I may have and make me like You. In Jesus' name, Amen!

Pastor Ed Tandy McGlasson has brought hope and healing to parents and children suffering from divorce, mixed family difficulties, parent/children relationship problems, single parent challenges and the loneliness of orphans and widows.

Through 20 years of healing ministry to families Pastor Ed has discovered a powerful solution to a common cause of family problems.  He has discovered a solution to the fatherless wound.  Most family problems can be traced back generations to wounds caused by different types of fatherlessness.  Pastor Ed's definition of fatherlessness includes fathers and mothers that were emotionally or physically abusive, emotionally or physically absent, or lacked the ability to love their children because they were not loved and blessed by their fathers.

Today there is hope for families found in Pastor Ed’s latest healing program, The Blessing of the Father For Families.  Please log on to www.blessingofthefather.com to learn more about how to heal your family.
