The next week is crucial. This is our chance to tell Australia that we want real peace for Palestine and Israel

URGENT ACTION -  Israeli PM's Visit: We need you to speak out!

The Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu is due to officially visit Australia sometime between 19th and 24th Feb, at the personal invitation of the Foreign Minister Julie Bishop.
PIEN believes this visit should not take place. It displays bias from our government, is not conducive to peace, and betrays the possibility of real peace for our Palestinian brothers and sisters.
We believe this visit is an opportunity for people of peace to speak up, to call for our government to recognise the injustice of the Israeli occupation and to support Palestinians in their struggle for freedom and self-determination.
PIEN, with other organisations, have organised some major events. However, we need your support at this very important time. Here is what you can do:
  • Get your church involved - see the briefing and action sheet we prepared.
  • Attend a rally (Melbourne and Sydney)
  • Come and hear the Vice Chancellor of Bethlehem University (Melbourne and Sydney)
  • Write to your MP, the Prime Minister and the Minister for Foreign Affairs
  • Join a Prayer Vigil (Melbourne and Canberra)
  • Tweet and share on Facebook #no2netanyahu
Need more information? Refer to our webpage for all actions.

We can make a difference on this visit! We have a chance to make sure that others sit up and notice and help them realise that the Australian government's approach is not conducive to peace and that we must recognise the rights of Palestinians.

This is your chance to get others involved, here are some ideas: This is our chance to contribute to change, together we can make a difference.
