Gatekeepers - movie in cinemas now

This film interviews all surviving heads of Shin Bet (Israeli's security agency).  It gives their very candid and often critical view of Israeli policies towards the Palestinians.  Margaret and David reviewed the film this week and gave it 4 and 4.5 stars each! See trailer and reviews.


Sailing Through Troubled Waters: Christianity in the Middle East by Mitri Raheb.  This book is a compilation of Rev. Dr. Mitri Raheb's articles and essays, released on the 25th anniversary of his ordination in the Lutheran Church.  Dr Raheb has served in Palestine since his ordination and played a key role in sharing the situation of Palestinian Christians.

Compilation of Attacks against Christian properties and churches by Israelis, by Jerusalem Inter-Church Center.  Details of the 10 most recent attacks on Christian sites, including on monasteries and graveyards.   No charges for any events appear to have been laid.  Read compilation

Israeli soldiers tell human rights observers to leave vicinity of Ibrahim Mosque as next step in their attempts to restrict international observers in the area.

Israel shows zero tolerance for peaceful protest
Stun grenade and tear gas were used by Israeli forces on Friday to disperse a peaceful demonstration south of Bethlehem in solidarity with the victims of an alleged chemical weapons attack in Syria.

Worshipers tear gassed in Ramallah mosque
Dozens of worshipers were treated for the effects of teargas inhalation after Israeli soldiers fired gas bombs into Omar Bin Al-Khattab Mosque.

Israel orders partial demolition of Palestinian school
Israeli authorities ordered the demolition of part of a Palestinian school in East Jerusalem.

Israeli forces expand illegal outpost in Nablus
Israeli bulldozers on Sunday leveled private Palestinian land in Nablus in order to enlarge an illegal settlement outpost. Settlers destroyed dozens of olive trees to illegally establish the outpost.

Dire humanitarian conditions in Gaza
Gaza Action Ireland has expressed growing concern about the dire consequences in Gaza due to the closure of the Rafah crossing, at the border with Egypt.

B'Tselem  reports torture and threats of rape on Palestinian children
Palestinian children are systematically subjected to torture and violence, including threats of rape, by Israeli interrogators, in order to force them to confess to stone-throwing.

Ashrawi says international judicial avenues way to rein in settlements
After Israel announced 942 new units to be built she said "If Israel persists in such policies we will have no other option but to seek recourse to international law and international agencies”.  

Israel levels East Jerusalem land for 'national park'
Israeli bulldozers levelled Palestinian land in the Jerusalem neighbourhood of al-Tur and closed the area of Khallat al-Ein and prevented local residents from accessing the area.

Silent Nakba: Israel’s slow displacement of Palestinian farmers
Many Palestinian Farmers have their land destroyed by the Israeli Occupation Force (IOF) or are prohibited from accessing water resources or digging additional wells.

Israel implements new policy, issuing Jerusalem IDs with 10-year expiration dates.
Once implemented collectively, all Palestinian  Jerusalemites who hold permanent residency status will be obligated to go to the Ministry of Interior to renew their IDs upon such expiration.
