Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
George Osborne in Stanmore

Bob joined forces with Hannah David, the Conservative Candidate for Harrow West, to welcome the Chancellor of the Exchequer, Rt Hon George Osborne, to Harrow to see the work of local shops and discuss the challenges to businesses with local traders.
The Chancellor paid a visit to shops on Stanmore Broadway, including Balloon ‘n Party, before joining members of the local traders association at Buckingham’s for a discussion on issues affecting their businesses and on the policy measures announced by Mr Osborne in the Autumn Statement last week, including a business rate discount of up to £1,000 for retail premises, including shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants, which will benefit 5000 business properties in Harrow.

Mahavir Foundation Celebration
I was pleased to join the Mahavir Foundation charity for their annual programme of celebration of India's history and culture at the Jain temple in Kenton.
APPG British Hindus Launch

I was elected the Chairman of the newly formed All Party Parliamentary Group for British Hindus recently and it has now enjoyed its official launch in the House of Commons. It was attended by special guests Maha Mandleshwar Gita Manishi and Swami Shri Gyananand Ji Maharaj. The group will provide a platform of discussion and a voice for British Hindus to engage with Parliament.
The Government’s Airport Commission has recommended expansion of Heathrow airport. There are a number of issues that concern me about the prospect of expansion, noise levels chiefly among them, and I believe we need to consider some of the alternative proposals that have been put forward.

Please sign this petition if you also oppose the expansion of Heathrow airport, and circulate it amongst friends.
