Flower Doodling

I brought my watercolors and sketch pen with me to Florida and actually found time to play while Jeff was watching a football game!  I have a Pinterest board called Doodles/Line Drawing/Sketch where I pin everything sketchy!  Click on the flowers for the link.

Of course, I didn't stop there (the game was rather lengthy!), so here's the rest of my postcard paintings.  Each photo has the link to the pin I was referencing.  I wish I could create on my own without 'copying' but that wasn't what these exercises were about.  (As long as I don't sell someone else's paintings that I've copied, I shouldn't be thrown in jail).  All of the doodled postcards were painted first and then doodled.  I  used a Sakura Pigma Pen 05 and Koi paint pallet.

I'm really enjoying Catherine Pooler, founder of The Stamp Nation.  She often creates videos and tutorials that are well done and useful.  Her stamp and ink line are great and she gives purchase credits every time you shop her store!
Click on the photo below for a fun sketch and tutorial.  She used embossing paste but I'm sure any stamp and embossing powder would work well too.

My favorite local spa is Belladerma Wellness right here in Brewerton!  They are offering a sweet Valentine's special on a facial and/or a facial and massage combination.  Sometimes you just need a little spa treatment to get through the cold of winter and to make yourself feel good!

The new shoebox format last Wednesday was all kinds of fun!  We had 4 different card designs to make brought by Sherry, Kathy and Ellie.  This is a fantastic opportunity to use your stash (believe me, you won't even miss your stuff!).  Just create one CAS card sample and put together 8 kits.  You do not have to commit to making kits as we'll always have at least 3 people signed up to make kits, but the more cards we make, the merrier we'll be!

The next meeting of Sherry's CAS Club at the Bridgeport Library is February 22nd at 3:30.  The challenge of February's card kits is as follows:

Make it Green
Make it Masculine
Use Ribbon in a creative way

My third What's Next? is....drumroll....The Art Exchange Group!!!  I'm working with a friend from The Savvy Chick to create a mixed media group where once a month, we'll have guest artists present all things mixed media.  We're still working out the details, but I can reveal we will meet at The Solvay Library on Sundays at 2:00pm.  I'm the first presenter and beyond excited!!!  Details to follow!
Here's a classic example of a mixed media project that all card makers have done at one time or another.  It is stamping with bleach onto black cardstock, color blending with dye inks and then covering with spray webbing!!!  Remember when we used to use spray webbing on everything???  Well, I still have plenty stashed in a corner somewhere.  We wouldn't necessarily make an accordion folder as in the above example, because I'm still gaga over altering Rolodex cards.  No matter what we do each month, we will have a marvelous and creative time together!

Have a pleasant week!
