Garage Art is Finished!

I had an absolute ball painting this 12x12 gesso board!  I began the project by sketching out the scene and decided to outline everything with my Faber-Castell Pitt Artist Pen Black 199.  They come in a pack of 4 different size pens.  I used the B size, which is the largest nib.  My smaller pens just weren't drawing over the gesso board at all.  You can find these on Amazon as well.

If only the weather would cooperate so I could hang this in the garage!

Taking a Snow Day!

Having snipets of time to be creative is not always fulfilling enough, so last Tuesday, I took a snow day and had the entire day to play!  I began my morning by painting a warm up card from a Pinterest pin.  I totally worked from a piece by Veronique Piaser-Moyen's largely because I love fluid painting and her style is much like Angela Fehr, who has a similar style and who does a lot of tutorials and online classes.
I like the flowers but the background looks a little too scrubbed to me.  I'd like to make a larger piece without looking at the original artist's painting so I can actually say, it is my own design.  Guess that's my What's Next? for this week!

Practicing More Florals

This is another 12x12 size watercolor.  I'm following a pin by Mai Autumn for practice purposes and here's what I call Part 1.  It's a little scary looking...but my point is to allow myself to see a piece through to it's completion and then decide whether it's worthy of my walls or to be considered a practice exercise.  Can't wait for Part 2!!!!
Part 2 - Could be finished...but it needed something!
Part 3 - Now it's finished!
Yep, I tortured myself whether to doodle or not and my medium Faber-Castell PITT artist pen won!  For some reason, my favorite Sakura Pigma pen 05 wasn't writing well over the paint.  Final touch...splatters!!!

The Card Concept Challenge #69 - Rich Textures

I just couldn't resist responding to this week's Card Concept Challenge!  Here's my take and I enjoyed every moment of the process of creating this card.  I love having an inspiration photo!

Sherry's Shoebox CAS Club

The next meeting of Sherry's CAS Club at the Bridgeport Library is March 22nd at 3:30.

The Shoebox Challenge is:

Shoebox Kit Sign Ups for March:  Ellie, Kathy, Lyn

Bring 1 card kit to swap

Shoebox cards are a fantastic opportunity to use your stash (believe me, you won't even miss your stuff!).  Just create one CAS card sample and put together 8 kits in  a "shoebox."  You do not have to commit to making a kit as we'll always have at least 3 people signed up to make kits, but the more cards we make, the merrier we'll be!

What's Next?  Painting on Fabric!

Remember last week when I posted a Geli printed fabric pillow?  I've since found drill cloth at JoAnn's that the pinner recommended and purchased 4 yards.  All this painting is leading me up to painting a pillow!  I also purchased fabric paint just so I'm working with the correct products for best results.  I also want to create the Geli printed pillow AND now a freestyle painted pillow.  Where is all this going?!?  All I know is I can't sleep at night thinking of all these exciting projects.
Have a pleasant week!
