Santa Run for Wishes &
Annual Christmas Party 2015

The biggest Christmas run in town happened on 28 November, with participants running along Palawan Beach in a 2KM family fun run route or 5KM route. The event was graced by our Guest-of-Honour, Mr Tan Chuan-Jin, Minister for Social and Family Development.
After the run, participants were also treated to exclusive entry into Universal Studios Singapore where more fun and excitement awaited. They experienced cutting-edge rides, shows, and attractions including Puss In Boots' Giant Journey, Battlestar Galactica: HUMAN vs. CYLON™, TRANSFORMERS The Ride: The Ultimate 3D Battle and more! There were many Santas spotted in the crowd, including a Nutcracker family and our Best-Dressed winner for this year - Ms Jessica Parker, who turned up as a Christmas Snow Globe.
On the same day, some 1,400 Wish Children and their families also celebrated a magical Christmas at the Make-A-Wish Annual Christmas Party at USS. There were plenty of surprises, thanks to the generosity of the Santa Run runners who brought presents like toys, books, clothing, electronic items, LEGO, and stationery. Many expressed their reluctance to leave when it was time to head home. Indeed, it was an enchanting night filled with laughter and joy, especially for the beneficiaries who visited USS for the first time .

Jamming with Art
In order to be a little bit different, one has to think out of the box sometimes. With this in mind, Alexandra decided to invite her closest friends to a Birthday Art Jam @ Arteastiq, a boutique teahouse and social painting studio at Mandarin Gallery.
The motto of Arteastiq - “Life is about using the whole box of crayons” means a lot to Alexandra. While her friends enjoyed the painting session, they were also encouraged to make donations to Make-A-Wish instead of bringing gifts.
The Birthday Girl likens her life to be blessed with the ability to “use a whole box of crayons”, and empathizes with those who cannot. In her own little way, Alexandra hopes to do more for the less fortunate and has even encouraged her friends to give back to the community. It was not surprising how many different art pieces were produced with a little imagination and a lot of fun. In the three hours they shared, everyone felt contented and grateful to be able to contribute to a good cause and make a difference in a child’s life.
“It feels great giving back to the community and it is so easy!” We couldn’t have said it better, Alexandra.
