Happy holidays

The Building Services Team would like to thank you for all your efforts with engaging and working with us. Over the last year we have approved 2758 building consents for just over $1 billion worth of work, and the inspections team have carried out just over 25,000 inspections.

Next year's forecast is looking extremely busy too, so we hope you are able to relax and recharge over the break with your loved ones.

Merry Christmas and a happy New Year. We look forward to working with you again in 2020.

End of year message from Regulatory and Compliance General Manager – Barbara Dempsey

Having joined the team in May this year, I have had the pleasure of meeting with many of you while working alongside this passionate and committed team.

It has been an extremely busy but rewarding year for us.   Not only have we seen some great projects progress, a positive audit result, there has been an encouraging rise in the levels of engagement and relationships with the industry.
I would also like to thank you all for your support this year, your warm welcome, and for participating in our sector workshops. Your feedback has been invaluable, and we look forward to working with you next year and building on the engagement.
I hope you all have an opportunity to take a break over the Christmas period, and have a safe happy holiday

What's wrong in this picture?

Last issue's answer

Re-fabrication of structural elements require an amendment.

In this instance the ridge beam was cut to allow for the new flue without any consideration for the integrity of the roof structure. Hopefully it will support Santa's sleigh this year!
