Footage Foundation's mission is to amplify the voices of youth as
a means of igniting change within themselves and their communities.
Our Footage Supporters:

What a phenomenal few months. Because of your amazing enthusiasm and generosity toward our first crowdfunding campaign, which launched May 10th, the summer was busy as we developed ground-breaking programming, and created partnerships to push into relief the voices of young women refugees globally, with a focus on compassion and resilience.

And again, because of you, our footprint is widening! From presenting at the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine in Washington D.C. to being featured in Tech for Good, people worldwide are asking about the impact of Footage's innovative voice methods.

All the while, Girl-talk-Girl's scale-up program has reached even more young women in the U.S. and Russia, and in the coming weeks we will be releasing more powerful digital stories -- increasing connections and feelings of shared humanity across international borders. For now, we know you will join us in extending enormous gratitude to the brave young women who recently participated and to the leaders who mobilized their experiences with Girl-talk-Girl to support others in telling their stories of gender-based violence.

Finally, we have a major program of events planned for the Fall here at Footage, with the potential to ultimately change thousands of lives. Our work relies fully on your contributions, and to honor your investment in us, we are excited to announce our new Recognition Program. This Recognition Program draws you closer to us in a truly tangible way as it invites you to accompany us in achieving our mission as you become allies, sponsors, and/or media partners. We urge you to explore this new program, to read this newsletter and follow us online, and to join us today as an individual or as a member of an organization or corporation.

On behalf of the immensely passionate and dedicated Footage team, our deepest gratitude to all of you for entrusting us with the charge, and privilege, of being the change you wish to see.

Yours, as ever,
Kristen Ali Eglinton, PhD
Executive Director

#AreYouBraveEnough

To spark dialogue on the impact of storytelling, we have been engaging the public on social media and the streets of NYC. We have been immensely moved by the powerful responses and awareness raised for Footage. Participate in the discussion! It's not too late to send us a photo. Don't forget to add #AreYouBraveEnough.

We will be back out on the streets in October, watch this space!
Voices from Girl-talk-Girl Scale-up
"I realized that there are people who are ready to share their experience, who are not afraid to talk... And there are people who are ready to help... I was really happy about that. I didn’t expect so much compassion and didn’t expect to see similar stories. I really didn’t."
(Girl-talk-Girl scale-up participant, St. Petersburg)

In case you missed it: Our Girl-talk-Girl project uses an innovative method called mVoiceWorks© to support dialogue between American and Russian young women at-risk to gender violence by creating awareness about their daily challenges through mobile digital stories (stories produced on mobile phones). The stories and educational materials produced by these young women are disseminated across public and private agencies, reaching young women beyond physical, sociocultural, and economic borders. This project is made possible through a generous US - Russia Peer-to-Peer Award from the US State Department, and further supported by our steadfast donors like you.
