Portage in Taganrog
We are very excited to be able to share the news that after Jo's hugely successful trip to Taganrog in February they have now started running their new Portage Service. Taganrog is a large town in the far South of Russia, 18hours by train from Moscow, close to the Ukrainian border.
Thanks to your amazing fundraising, through TheBigGive 2013 and ThePromise Winter Morning Walk, we were able to fund for Jo and Katya, the senior portage worker in Yasenevo in Moscow, to spend a week with Diana and her team providing training and advice.
The initial team of five Portage workers have begun their weekly visits to one family each. They are getting to know the children and the parents and have already started setting them activities in line with the Portage checklists to help the children learn new skills.
