Dear WCFR Supporters,
The "WCFR Bikes for Kids" Project sponsored by Waste Connections Inc. is an initiative of the WCFR Health Education Program. The WCFR Health Education Program goals are: to increase awareness of fatal health conditions, promote healthy lifestyles and improve community health. We are grateful to have had the support of Saint Joseph Roman Catholic Church since this project was initiated in December 2019.
The purpose of the "WCFR Bikes for Kids" Project is to distribute bikes to kids free of charge to motivate them to keep active. The brand new bikes are usually raffled out at events held in Rockland, NY. WCFR has distributed twenty-two bikes since 2019.
WCFR held six "WCFR Bikes for Kids" Project giveaways to distribute the twenty-two bikes. The first "WCFR Bikes for Kids" Project giveaway was held at Saint Joseph Roman Catholic Church for our two 9-year-old ambassadors Jaiden and Janelle. This was a surprise for them and we were so glad to see how excited they were about their new bikes and helmets.
A total of sixteen bikes were distributed at Saint Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Spring Valley, NY. Three bikes were distributed at Ramapo High School in Spring Valley, NY. Three bikes were distributed at Nyack Center in Nyack, NY. We love to make the kids smile. Special thanks to Waste Connections Inc. for sponsoring this project and to Saint Joseph Roman Catholic Church for their continued support in meeting our mission "to prevent deaths worldwide through education and training".
