Committee News: Council of Funded Projects

The Council of Funded Projects met last week, giving attention to well-connected presentations from ESIP and CHORDS who showed what they can offer the community of EarthCube projects (the CFP page has slides & notes). A short-term working group on specifications was formed to draft input, which will be reviewed and modified by the whole group next meeting (Thurs. Dec. 5), and then will be forwarded to the Leadership Council.

AGU - Gatherings and Presentations

AGU starts in just 3 weeks!

There are two specific occasions where we look forward to EarthCube people gathering together. Useful exchanges and joint ventures launch when project developers and geoscientists share the same space!

(1) Monday, Dec. 9 - EarthCube Town Hall. 18:15-19:15  Moscone West rm 2020, L2.  TH15D: EarthCube: A Community-Driven Cyberinfrastructure for the Geosciences–A Progress Report  Christine Kirkpatrick, Rebecca Koskela, Eva E Zanzerkia, Kenneth Howard Rubin, Bonnie L Hurwitz, Joseph Hamman, Suzanne A Pierce, Alexander G Kosovichev, Samira Daneshgar Asl, Basil Tikoff .

(2) Tuesday, Dec. 10 - Happy Hour at the EarthCube Booth #510 (near NSF). 15:30-17:30, Exhibition Hall (Moscone South, Hall F). Pick up an EarthCube coaster and maybe a new collaborator!

EarthCube presentations at AGU ( are scheduled throughout the meeting. If your effort should be added, please alert us or add your info here; 52 presentations are listed!

People from several EarthCube projects will demo their tools at the EarthCube booth during the week. There are still some time slots available to schedule - take advantage of this valuable opportunity!

EarthCube is a partner in the 2019 AGU Data FAIR, Booth #1329. The Data Help Desk topics and tool demos at his booth include several EC projects and CDF repository members; our partner ESIP is coordinating much of this work. Note the highly relevant Data FAIR Town Hall issues.

Looking forward to seeing many of you at AGU!
