Yesterday's Town Hall

Thank you to everyone who joined us yesterday for our Town Hall. Leadership Council Chair Ken Rubin, EarthCube Science Support Office (ESSO) PI Mohan Ramamurthy, and NSF EarthCube Program Manager Eva Zanzerkia presented a year's worth of progress to members of the EarthCube Community yesterday afternoon. Each presenter discussed various aspects of the EarthCube program as a whole before opening it up for a lively question and answer session.

He also gave a broad overview of progress on one of the most anticipated EarthCube developments, P418.

Mohan discussed activities of the ESSO, including the creation of the EarthCube video, management of the All Hands Meeting, major technical developments of the ESSO Technology Officer Eric Lingerfelt, including the three subawards that augment P418 and evolve it into GeoCODES (P418 GUI, P419, and the EarthCube Resource Registry.

Eva discussed upcoming funding opportunities for the EarthCube community, including the solicitations for the next EarthCube office as well as the next round of EarthCube-funded Projects. There will be webinars on January 4th and 25th, respectively, so be sure to keep your eye out for call in details for those in upcoming Monday Updates.
