Book a room for the Annual Meeting before it's too late! All rooms will be gone after Friday.

The second week of June is a busy one in Denver. EarthCube currently has rooms held for those who want to attend the ECAM, but you must book by FRIDAY.

You can also check out the Sched for the ECAM. You can even make your own personalized schedule with the breakout sessions you would like to attend!

TOMORROW: Informational Webinar for the new NSF Geoinformatics (GI) Solicitation

A new solicitation has been posted for the NSF Geoinformatics (GI) program from the Division of Earth Sciences. Three new tracks of opportunities are now supported: the Catalytic Track, Facility Track, and Sustainability Track.

Tomorrow, Tuesday, May 14 at 2 pm EDT, a webinar will be held. There will be a brief overview of the program and the opportunity to ask questions. Participants should have emailed by 5 pm on Friday, May 10 to enroll in the webinar.

The Division of Earth Sciences (EAR) will consider proposals for the development of cyberinfrastructure (CI) for the Earth Sciences (Geoinformatics).  EAR-supported geoinformatics opportunities will fit into three tracks: Catalytic track, Facility track, and Sustainability track. These tracks broadly support the lifecycle of geoinformatics resource development, from pilots (Catalytic) to broad implementation (Facility) to sunsetting and long-term sustainability (Sustainability). For details, check NSF's official solicitation page.
  • The GI Catalytic Track will support pilot geoinformatics development efforts that are intended to serve Earth Sciences research.
  • The GI Facility Track will support awards for implementation and operation of a cyberinfrastructure resource relied upon by one or more Earth Science communities to address science questions.
  • The GI Sustainability Track will support development and implementation of sustainable funding models to preserve data and software products of value to Earth Science research.

All proposals must be submitted by August 15th.
