Prints Inspired by Deity Statues
Our gallery welcomes the Year of the Monkey with a display featuring a series of prints, titled Zodiac. Inspired by deity statues resembling the zodiac animals, these works were produced by Damon Kowarsky and Kyoko Imazu with the support of The Japan Foundation, Sydney. On display until February 12.

Jizo Shrines and Art
On now at Brisbane's Gallery of Modern Art is Japanese artist Yuta Nakamura's installation, titled Tiles, Small Shrine and Tourism. This project focuses on the physical elements of roadside shrines, dedicated to the Buddhist deity Jizo. Now on display as part of The 8th Asia Pacific Triennial of Contemporary Art. Funded by The Japan Foundation.
