An Exhibition of Japan's Cute, Quirky and Colourful |
|
|
Our gallery comes alive with bright and bold colours, thanks to our new collaborative exhibition titled, Above and Below: Art on the streets. The exhibition features Japan-inspired contemporary works by painter Dennis McCart and artistic duo Sarah Murphy and Matthew Feder, a.k.a. Painting Travel Installation Society. From photo-realistic paintings of Japanese manhole covers and bold crossovers of the ukiyo-e genre and neon Tokyo, through to mash-ups of Japan's age-old custom of senjafuda labels and streetside fixtures from urban Sydney. Join us for the opening reception on Friday, May 6. Exhibition runs until May 28. |
