Mad Love Exhibition by Chris Yee

Explore Chris Yee's playful world, inspired by his own experiences of growing up in Sydney exposed to mass media and Japanese pop culture. This exhibition, titled Mad Love, will feature a series of large-format manga-inspired illustrations drawn with a calligraphy pen. It will include new works created specially for the exhibition. Starts June 11 at The Japan Foundation Gallery.

Kids' Illustration Workshop
This fun workshop will see kids learning different brush techniques with a calligraphy pen and working together to create their own comics. Led by Mad Love artist Chris Yee, this event is for 6-12 year olds and will be held at The Japan Foundation, Sydney on June 20. Admission is free. Bookings essential.

Japan's Ties with the Dutch
Did you know that Japanese artists were inspired by elements of Dutch design in the 16th-19th centuries? In a public talk, expert on the Dutch East Indian Company Dr Oka Yasumasa explains the trade ties between the Dutch and the Japanese. Proudly supported by The Japan Foundation, Sydney, this talk will be held at the Art Gallery of South Australia, Adelaide on July 4.
