A Letter from USBA's President,
Kristi Swett
Back to School! The summer is coming to a close and all of us have begun another school year. I hope all went well, and the challenges were minimal. Thank you for contributing to your district through your board work. Keep up the good work.
Our Delegate Assembly was a success. Thanks to all who traveled to attend and contribute to the conversation about our legislative priorities. It is vital our three associations, USSA/UASBO/USBA, are working and meeting together, focusing our conversations on the students of our state. A united voice, especially at the legislature, will provide opportunities for the Joint Legislative Committee (JLC) to be proactive during the session.

NSBA News - JoDee Sundberg
Back to School! I hope everyone has had a great start to school this new year. I know that there has been a great work going on to prepare for all the students we bring into our schools. The work of public education is the greatest work we can do outside of our own families to ensure our communities are strong and viable. Our children need all who are willing to make a difference for their opportunities to learn. Thank you for all you do.

Safety Spotlight - A Trip and Fall Lesson
Not too long ago, I attended a dance recital at a popular venue in Utah County. As I was walking in, I noticed a raised section of sidewalk, right near the main entry. After notifying an employee, I stayed to warn patrons, while the employee went to get a member of the maintenance team. The employee returned and I went in to watch the recital. Before maintenance arrived, an elderly gentleman tripped on the raised section of sidewalk and fell onto the concrete, severely injuring his head.
