GGCC Snow Policy

GGCC follows the same policy as the Montgomery County Public Schools.
The policy is as follow:
  • When the County Schools are closed or there is a two-hour delay, all GGCC morning events and committee meetings are cancelled.
  • Any afternoon events or committee meetings will be decided upon by 8:00 am.
  • All evening events or committee meetings, will be decided upon by Noon.
  • Please note there are times that an event may be held or cancelled due to the sponsoring company’s policies and/or the discretion of the GGCC.
We will keep everyone apprised via our website and social media outlets if possible and as soon as we can.
  • If your business serves homeowners, then simply put, you do not want to miss the 2016 Montgomery Village Home Show on Saturday, March 19 from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm at the Lake Marion Community Center, 8821 East Village Avenue, Montgomery Village. Click here to register for the home show.

  • Lakeforest Mall, in partnership with the Chinese Culture and Community Service Center will once again host one of the largest indoor Lunar New Year celebrations in the northeast. Visitors will enjoy spectacular décor and informational exhibits throughout the two week celebration.   • Join the Maryland Women's Business Center for a great evening at their Mardi Gras Reception as they continue to celebrate the Maryland Women's Business Center's Five-Year Anniversary. This is a special fundraising event which is part of their "Step Up for Women Entrepreneurs" Campaign. The UnMask Your Business Potential - Special Anniversary Mardi Gras Reception occurs on February 9 at 5:30 pm. For further details and/or tickets, click here.
  • The City of Gaithersburg, in partnership with the Harp and Shamrock Society of Gaithersburg and the Peterson Companies/Rio Washingtonian Center, will host the 16th Annual St. Patrick's Day Parade at 10:00 am on Saturday, March 12 at Washingtonian Center.  Community groups and other organizations are invited to march in the parade. A participant application form is available on the City’s website.
  • Show Adventist HealthCare Shady Grove Medical Center how your company prevented the spread of influenza in 2015. They would like to recognize employers who help stop the spread of flu in the workplace. Take a couple of minutes to tell them about your flu program and nominate your company for the 2015 Flu Fighter Award. Those eligible will receive a Flu Fighter Award at our LifeWork Connections Luncheon in March of 2016.
  • Spend Valentine's Day Weekend at The Melting Pot Gaithersburg. On February 12th they will have a limited menu available including three four-course options ranging from $37-$48 per person. They will have a 4 course set menu after 4:00 pm on the 13th and all day on the 14th. Price is $72 per person(excluding tax and gratuity), click here for menu details and reservations.

The GGCC's Young Professionals program is a networking group of dedicated young professionals ranging in age from 21-40. The chamber supports the professional development of the next generation of leaders by providing opportunities for skill-building, information sharing, networking and growth of younger professionals in our chamber.
