The fourth seminar in the GGCC Entrepreneur Breakfast series – “Evolution is Essential for Entrepreneurs - Are you sure you are heading in the right direction?" will be held on Thursday, October 13 from 7:45-9:30 am at the Montgomery College, BioScience Education Center, 20200 Observation Drive, Germantown.   • Vira Safai, managing partner of the Comfort Inn Gaithersburg, has volunteered to help the University of Maryland Eastern Shore modernize its lodging options. Safai will transfer to UMES roughly enough hotel furnishings for 100 rooms this fall. UMES officials have big plans for the gift worth an estimated $200,000.The donation includes lamps, art work and furniture known as case goods – dressers, tables and desks – as well as some mattresses, upholstered seating and chairs.Great job Comfort Inn!!

  • CONGRATS to Gaithersburg City Council Member Ryan Spiegel was recently named to represent Gaithersburg on the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments (MWCOG or COG) Board of Directors. Council Member Spiegel has served on MWCOG’s Climate, Energy & Environment Policy Committee since 2010 and on the Metropolitan Development Policy Committee since 2008. Mandatory Sick Leave Begins October 1

PLEASE NOTE - MANDATORY SICK LEAVE BEGINS OCTOBER 1ST.

An employee must accrue paid leave before accruing unpaid leave in a calendar year. Earned paid sick and safe leave must accrue at a rate of at least 1 hour for every 30 hours an employee works in the County.

As part of an ongoing effort to provide value to our members, the Chamber has partnered with energy experts CQI Associates to offer you the services of the Commercial Energy Co-op. We are happy to announce the Fall 2016 enrollment campaign is underway. 

Joining the Chamber's Energy Co-op Program provides:
