The biggest bang you'll get this year

Welcome to 2016 and all that. It's 15 days to Australia Day. This means we have two weeks to sell out an 80-ticket event at WARC on the balcony to watch the legendary fireworks. Sales of the $50 ticket, which includes food and first drink, have taken off so if you're keen to come along, probably an idea to buy your ticket sooner rather than later. Get the details and link to ticket sales here.

Just so you know, we won't be holding tickets for the indicisives amongst you: You only have a ticket once you actually buy one.

The Great Raffle
The count down is on. Sell tickets peeps - we have about six weeks until the deadline so now is the time to ramp up. The return details are here.
Vale the glasses
RWA will this year be trialling medals at presentations rather than the glasses that have been handed out for decades as mementos of races won. Details here.
Be the boss
Rowing WA has FIVE positions up for election at the upcoming AGM. As part of the Association, it is in WARC's interest that the State body gets some seriously talented people to help guide them, and it just happens we reckon the talent pool at WARC runs pretty deep. Details here.
Bona Fortuna, Verity

Long-time friend of WARC Verity Keogh is set to embark on a new career path, after some years as the WA State Talent Pathway Coordinator. WARC will host a good luck event for Verity on the evening of Thursday, January 21 from 7pm to 8.30pm.

Details here, RSVP to headcoach@warowingclub.org

2016 rowing fixtures
The 2016 rowing fixtures are out. Check out the 2016 Calendar here.
Wanted: Sport Development Officer
Rowing WA is looking for a new staffer to develop rowing. You can check the advertisement out here. I'm told the salary will be in the ballpark of $50-$60K + super depending on experience.
State team squads
We've had a few (well, pretty much all) WARC/UWABC nationals squad athletes picked up in State Team squads, check out the full list here, it's too long to put in a newsletter!  These athletes and the program of which they are a part has been growing year on year, well done!
