TED called!

Last week I spoke at TED@NYC, TED's annual salon of six-minute talks with a predictably incredible array of speakers. (One of my favorites was Jarrett Krosoczka, who wrote a graphic novel series about the Lunch Lady super hero, inspiring kids across the country to honor their cafeteria staff.)

You'll be the first to know if my talk makes it onto TED.com! In the meantime, I wrote a blog post about what I learned from the experience, and have been busy on other fronts...

Read

I weighed in on ousted American Apparel CEO Dov Charney's one redeeming quality; Google's responsibilities for Glass wearers' risky behavior; Stanford's decision to divest its endowment from coal; Chipotle's decision to ban guns from its restaurants; and the common misperception that human rights abuses only occur in faraway lands.

Listen & Watch

You can hear me talking about my book on Harvard Business School's "The Business" podcast; Amherst Reads; and the Australian Broadcasting Corporation's "The World Today."

You might also enjoy this podcast from the Carnegie Council for Ethics in International Affairs on "Corporations as Agents of Change," featuring me and other experts.

Here's a video of my keynote at the CECP Summit (formerly the Committee to Encourage Corporate Philanthropy, but like my former employer it's all about the acronyms these days).

Engage

I have more NYC-area events in the coming weeks, then a relatively quiet August before conference season kicks in. Will I see you at SXSW EcoBSR, or Net Impact? Where else will you be?

As always, I'd love to hear what's on your mind. Please hit 'reply' at any time with your thoughts and join me on Twitter and Facebook.

The Evolution of a Corporate Idealist: When Girl Meets Oil

"Yet for all the evident interest in CSR, especially among MBA students, remarkably few accounts cover the experiences of those who work that field. The Evolution of a Corporate Idealist, by Christine Bader, is a brief, well-written book that fills this important gap." -- Stanford Social Innovation Review
