Today on The Guardian, I point out that the dilemma faced by the tech companies caught up in U.S. intelligence gathering -- defy government orders, or violate international human rights norms -- isn't new.

On a different note:  At my recent college reunion, I appeared on a panel with classmates Jenny Rosenstrach, author of Dinner: A Love Story, and Ron Lieber, NYT columnist on leave to write The Opposite of Spoiled.  I wrote a guest post on my publisher's blog on our answers to the question:  "When did you realize you had a book in you?"

Thanks, as always, for listening and engaging.
