Daytona Beach, Fla. (September 22, 2016)Phoenix East Aviation (PEA), a pilot training school backed by Renovus Capital Partners, announced it has entered into an agreement to become the aviation training provider for the flight training program at Broward College.  Broward College is a premiere postsecondary education system serving more than 63,000 students across its four campuses and multiple centers in Broward County.  PEA is a leading provider of ab initio pilot training to domestic and international students and has trained over 12,000 pilots for the world’s airlines.

John Bingham, president and Phoenix East Aviation (PEA) CEO commented: “This partnership with Broward College extends the training capabilities of PEA and enables us to develop what will be one of a number of college flight programs where we will build upon our experience and global knowledge of flight training for the benefit of the college’s students and faculty alike.  We are delighted to have been chosen by Broward College and already have over 100 students enrolled in the newly managed aviation program.  Over the coming months we look forward to expanding the program significantly with them.”

PEA received vendor approval from the Broward College Board of Trustees on August 12 and quickly secured Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) approval on August 19.  In addition to serving current students, Broward College and PEA plan to expand capacity to accommodate more than 150 by Summer 2017.

The Associate of Science in Professional Pilot Technology program prepares students for a successful career working in the aviation industry.​  Broward College is an approved institution authorized to certify its graduates for a restricted privileges Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate with reduced aeronautical experience.  Broward College also has certificate programs in airport management, avionics vocational, airport airframe mechanics, aircraft power plant mechanical and commercial flight operations.  The Institute was approved by the FAA for pilot training under FAA Part 141 and are a Collegiate Training Initiative (CTI) institution for air traffic control training and education.

Phoenix East Aviation, based in Daytona Beach, Florida, is a provider of global ab initio pilot training to domestic and international students.  Using a modern fleet of all glass cockpit single and twin-engine aircraft, the academy offers a variety of training programs from private pilot and flight instructor to airline transport pilot.  Programs range in length from nine to 18 months and attract students from around the world.  Leading countries of origin include the U.S., China, Norway, India and Brazil.  The school is approved by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and accredited by the Accrediting Council for Continuing Education and Training (ACCET).
