- Aideen Roche has joined our team as Integration Intern. Aideen will be working closely with Intercultural Cities Co-ordinator, Matt Cannon. She will be supporting the work of the IWG and will be working on the Intercultural Cities programme, along with our work on anti-racism.
- Eva Coombes has also joined our team at Doras and will be welcoming and assisting our service users at reception, while also helping with administrative duties.
-We regret to have to say goodbye to Geraldine Clancy, who has been with Doras for a number of years. Geraldine will be greatly missed and we wish her all the very best of luck in her career.
- Amy Canavan, a Social Care student from LIT, is currently with us on work placement until April 2014. Social Care Students in Limerick Institute of Technology go on two work placements. Work placements are central to the education and training of most social care practitioners and aim achieve many outcomes.
Amy describes the experience as follows: “Being on placement at Doras is a very interesting and beneficial experience for me. While being here I have attended meetings that have taught me a lot and shown me the work that goes into making people feel safe and helping better their lives. I have also helped in reception which gave me direct contact with the clients and helped me see the work that Doras does from the frontline. Doras has been a very rewarding placement for me so far and I look forward to the remainder of my time hereâ€.
