Hello lovely Scratchies

Not too many sleeps before Santa descends with his sack of sugar to seduce us all. So before the sugar coma hits here’s a few updates and activities from the kitchen cupboards of Scratch.

December SupperClub Dates

Two new Supperclub dates for the Christmas month.  My place in Marylebone. 
It’ll be a Signature Scratch with a nod to the festive season - seven course tasting menu & a welcome glass of bubbles.

Marylebone Farmers' Market Visit & Cooking Class

 

This is a lovely social home-based cooking class which starts with a trot around the Marylebone farmer’s market where you’ll learn how to spot a perfect parsnip and when and where to snare a sublime oyster. The session ends with a feast of seasonal food prepared by you over a glass of well earned vino.  Very relaxed.  Small group. Maximum 6 participants.  Suitable for everyday cooks from beginners to very competent home cooks.

Pre-Christmas Monday Meditation & Soup Supper

Heading into the silly season we all need to make a bit of space for taking a breath. If you think some structure and guidance would help make this happen, the monthly mediation soup supper might be for you. 

We start with a calming guided meditation, and end with an optional bowl of nourishing soup and crusty bread.

Numbers are limited so please do book if you’d like to join.

Scratch RECIPE: And the wisdom of the Quince

This is a divine and unctuous recipe for spiced quince - the perfect accompaniment to all roast meats and cheeses.  Or with a scoop of chocolate icecream and a mix of stewed fruit, it makes a humble crumble all grown up.
