FSU’s Department of Art Rachel Rossin (BFA ’09) has been named one of the Forbes 30 Under 30 for 2017. Since graduating, Rossin has shown in solo exhibitions in New York as well as in museums in Basel, Riga, and Istanbul.

The Department of Art Education would like to welcome the new Director of the FSU Masters Art Therapy Program, Dr. Barbara Parker-Bell, who recently returned from Siberia where she was serving as a Fulbright Scholar.

In February, the Department of Art History presents two lectures on Medieval Art featuring visiting scholars Eric Palazzo of the University of Poitiers and Glaire Anderson of UNC Chapel Hill.

Interior Architecture & Design
The Department of Interior Architecture + Design began the spring semester with a charrette sponsored by Interface. Over five days, students were tasked with designing a retention and rehabilitation facility for super villains.

Dance
The School of Dance welcomes visiting faculty member pearl ubungen. During her time at FSU she is working with students through a variety of diverse avenues to share her philosophies and experiences as an artist.

Theatre
Hello, Dolly! will make it’s Broadway return this spring at the Shubert Theatre and will not only feature the legendary Bette Midler, but will include three FSU Music Theatre Alums: Amanda LaMotte, Justin Bowen, and Leslie Flesner.

Facility for Arts Research
February 25-26th, the Small Craft Advisory Press will host a Southeast Guild of Book Workers workshop with Eileen Wallace which will investigate ways of drawing or composing at the press using steel wire and wood veneer printing matrices.

The FSU / Asolo Conservatory for Actor Training continues its season with contemporary playwright Adam Bock’s high-energy comedy about life and love The Drunken City February 22nd through March 12, 2017.

The Maggie Allesee National Center for Choreography (MANCC) welcomes first time visiting artist Pam Tanowitz January 30 through February 10, 2017. While at MANCC, Tanowitz will develop New Work for Goldberg Variations.
