MAY 2013

Blooming flowers and singing birds
Hail the month of May;
The springing leaves and sunshine
Fairest tributes pay.

Every little bright-winged bird
Its sweet story sings;
Every flower and blossom
Richest perfume flings.

And every leaf upon the trees,
Every dewdrop fair,
Every whisper, hushed, and still,
Of sweet summer air,

Tells the same soft pleading story
To Mary, full of grace -
How her children so far from her,
Long to see her face.

From the Coordinator:
"Fiat"
When we read the story about the wedding at Cana, one simple line from our Mother Mary truly reflects her faith from the beginning: "Do whatever he tells you."

These five words can be difficult to actually follow.  Many times, we know what God is telling us to do, or we at least know what we shouldn't do, yet we still stray away into sin.  We are challenged to follow the Blessed Virgin Mary's example by surrendering to God's will, something we call Mary's fiat ("Let it be done.")

This month, let us call upon Our Lady to help us in those times we are weakest and know that her prayers for us will give us strength.  My challenge to you is to pray the rosary as often as possible, and as you do so, pray for every virtue that are exemplified by our Blessed Mother: faith, chastity, devotion, etc.  And may we strive to echo her fiat, letting our lives be done according to God's word.
"Come and Fish with Me"
with Tom Booth

On April 19 & 20, a special gathering for young adults was sponsored by the Congregation of Sacred Hearts at their provincial house in Kaneohe.  Members of our E.P.I.C. Ministry participated in this event led by renowned contemporary Catholic singer and songwriter, Tom Booth.  It was an awesome time as we experienced first-hand the awesome community of the Sacred Hearts Congregation and inspired by the music and testimony of Tom Booth.  Our InHarmony Choir's young adults also joined together with our friends from St. Michael & Resurrection of the Lord's young adult music ministries to lead praise and worship on Saturday.  We look forward to more opportunities to join together with the Sacred Hearts Congregation and other young adults!
Coming on Saturday, July 6th!
