Latest news from Walk on Wales, supporting the Welsh Guards Afghanistan Appeal and Combat Stress
Walk on Wales

With only 54 days to go now until Paul Conlon and his team set off at 2.00 pm from the steps of the Senned at the start of Stage 1 of the Walk, the momentum is really building and the support we are receiving is absolutely fantastic. We want to make sure that Paul, his team, Jan and Rod have a great send-off so if you can, please do come along from midday on 25 August to either wave them off, or walk the first half day with them. Please don't forget to keep spreading the word, encouraging all your family, friends, work colleagues or anyone you know to sign up and come and join the Walk at some stage between 25 August and 2 November, we want to have as many people walking as possible to not only help us reach our fundraising target, but also to make it the extraordinary event it promises to be.

Leading Breweries Support Walk on Wales

Two of the best-known breweries in Wales are to sponsor Walk on Wales. JW Lees Brewery and Frederic Robinson Brewery are to sponsor Stages 3 and 5 of the Walk, respectively. This is fantastic news and we'd like to thank William Lees-Jones and William Robinson, Managing Directors of the two breweries for their support.

Both companies intend getting fully involved in our fundraising activities and I am sure that our teams will need few excuses to stop off for the odd pint on the way along the Coastal Path.

Enterprise Cars to Drive Walk on Wales

Enterprise Rent-A-Car will drive our fundraising efforts by providing the official transport for our teams and their logistical support. The four vehicles, (2 4x4s, one MPV and a van) to be provided by Enterprise Rent-A-Car will take care of all our transportation needs, carrying the WOW team to and from their daily stroll along the 870-mile Welsh Coast Path as well as transporting our logistical teams and support equipment. Not sure how we can say thank you for this fabulous offer - but next time you need a rental car you know who to go to.

Calling All Cyclists

In an exciting new development the Baton will now be carried by bicycle from Chepstow to Chester. Taking charge of the Baton from Paul Conlon's team on 28 August will be Hugh Bodington and a team of intrepid overnight cyclists, who will be setting off to cycle the 130 mile route to Chester. The next morning they will hand the baton to Bill Mott who is leading the team walking Stage 2. If you want to join the in the fun and fancy a little bit of overnight cycling (and fundraising), please contact
