Madness on the Llyn Peninsula........

Stage 4 rocked...and rained! Mark Horwood and his team led everyone off Anglesey, to the heart of Caernarfon Castle, over mountains, through storms and into the sea. Heading along the north coast of the Llyn Peninsula they were blasted by gale force winds and driving rain of such ferocity that even Dai Graham was in danger of being bowled over!  Will Kevans and Arfon Williams (24) led the singing in Morfa Nefyn Golf Club while Mark led the charge into the waves at Whistling Sands.

A Million Thanks....

Huge thanks go to our sponsors for Stage 4: Boardman Gelly, Maldwyn Jones and the Bulkeley Arms in Menai Bridge, Lord Newborough and Rhug Estate, and Kenny Dawkins.  Equally huge thanks go to RAF Valley and the Pickering family for the fantastic Sage and Sea accommodation they provided to the team whilst on Anglesey and to Jonathan & Helen Williams-Ellis for putting us up in their wonderful holiday cottages at Glasfryn, near Criccieth.

Wonderful to see......

A raiding team from Leg 10: Dai Graham, Brian Elliott and the irrepressible Swill Hinder.  Veterans of the Hohne Officers Mess: Tommy Macdonald-Milner, Rupert Cockcroft, Jamie Pritchard-Barrett, Marcus Scriven, Davydd Wynne, Nick Hearn and Mark Presland.  Also Brian Tuohy from Chester Racecourse, who did so much to help us with our launch there and Andrew and Sarah, brother and sister of Pte Richard Middlewick, who died on the Sir Galahad.

Stage 5

Steve Jones - or is that Indiana in his swash-buckling hat?! - led the walkers off from Whistling Sands this morning on the first day of Stage 5. Join Steve, Gareth Gibbs, Henry Vaughan-Jones, Mark Davies (Beanz), Leon James, Steve and Ken Chappell and Steve Williams, and of course the Indefatigable 4 who are completing the entire 870 miles, as they complete the Llyn Peninsula through Abersoch, Pwllheli, Criccieth and Porthmadog this week. Share memories, make new friends and discover the amazing spirit of the Walk by joining in.

Collecting Sponsorship

Please can everyone ensure that once you have completed your section of the walk that you follow up with all the people who have pledged to sponsor you. Either ask them to pay it direct to our Virgin Giving site or send the money to you.  You can then pay it all into the Virgin Giving site (making sure you tick the Gift Aid Box if you are a UK taxpayer so we can benefit from an additional 20%) or, alternatively, send a cheque made out to Walk on Wales to the office in Pontypridd

We still have gaps in our Corporate Sponsorship so if you know anyone that might be prepared to sponsor a 6-day Stage for £5,000, or an individual day for £1,000 please let us know.  If anyone has any queries please contact
