Introducing the new Employability Practitioner Standard

Unemployment is at an all time low, and although the looming spectre of Brexit is at the forefront of all our minds, the job market continues to offer increased opportunities for jobseekers. But is this an accurate picture for everyone?

To help level the playing field MAXIMUS Training are delighted to launch our new Employability Practitioner standard for levy paying organisations in England. As part of the original trailblazer group we are proud to be delivering a standard that has been designed to help develop the skills, knowledge and behaviours of those helping people to address and overcome obstacles to secure suitable and sustainable employment.

Seetec and Hermes partnership tackles driver shortages

Employment and skills specialist Seetec has launched a new partnership with leading consumer delivery company Hermes UK to help address the UK driver shortage.

The “Road to Logistics” initiative will allow unemployed and young workers to gain valuable skills and the opportunity of full-time employment in the logistics sector, while ensuring Hermes develops its own talent pipeline.

Funded through the company’s Apprenticeship Levy, the scheme will see Hermes recruiting LGV Apprentices who currently have no driving experience, supporting them to achieve their Cat C and Cat C&E Licence.

The scheme is open to applicants of any age over 18, with the Level 2 apprenticeship taking 14 months. Successful participants will then be offered roles as employed Hub Drivers within Hermes’ hubs at Warrington and Rugby.
