Happy Holidays Oregon Region!

Farewell 2020! I wish the new Regional Board all the best for 2021 and look forward to a great year of Pony Club activities. Happy Holidays to everyone!

                                   ~ Annie Winter, Regional Supervisor

Pony Club Community

Hello Oregon Region, my name is Jodelle Marx and I am your incoming VRS of Community.

A little background on me:
I have been in ORPC since I was five years old (I'm now 22), I started in Columbia Winds and I'm now in Patton Valley. I'm a C-2 Traditional/H-B, working toward my C-3. I'm a senior in college and I currently ride Jordan Shulz's chestnut Thoroughbred, Flash. Horseback riding is my lifestyle and I'm excited to serve this important community.

About my role:
2020 has been an interesting year to say the least. My role for 2021, is to find creative ways for all of us to spend time together in the name of horses, while following social distancing measures for COVID-19.

I'm thinking about craft nights, Zoom Zumba, Among Us parties, and equestrian workout videos. What do you think? If you have any ideas, let me know! jod.marx@gmail.com

Part of my role is also to continue our journey of becoming more inclusive and supportive of our members. This is a team effort, just like rallies. If you are interested in being part of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee, please reach out. jod.marx@gmail.com

Volunteer Opportunities

~ Tracy Stout, VRS: Volunteer Coordinator ~

2020 has certainly not been the year of Pony Club activities that we thought it might be, but we did the best that we could and I think it went pretty well considering. I want to thank those of you who did participate in the virtual and in person events we were able to have and for staying safe and healthy in your clubs. We, as your regional board, are already busy planning events for 2021. We are of course hoping to have in person events as much as possible, but there will likely be some virtual ones as well. Please stay tuned for what's coming up next: Clinics and Quiz Rally. We will likely need some volunteer help for those events so please consider helping out where you can. We are almost through with 2020, so stay safe and we'll see you next year! Take care of each other and your ponies.

CLUB NEWS

Highland Riders PC: This month HRPC returned to Virtual Horse Management meetings but is still meeting in small groups for riding. Thanks Mikayla Stout for being a great guest instructor! HRPC has stayed strong and connected throughout a crazy year and is looking forward to a brighter 2021.

Oregon Trail PC: Oregon Trail has ended the year both strong and in excellent spirits! Our dressage rally team finished in 1st place for Riding as well as Horse Management - WOW! Their hard work and attention to details really paid off - great job girls! We had a wonderful Christmas Zoom Party, enhanced by a gift exchange made possible by Santa's elves, and some hilarious charades and truths/lies organized by our games queen, Cile. There is one final 2020 riding lesson to go, and we are looking forward to welcoming two new members on January 1st. Auf Wiedersehen 2020 - you might have made it a challenge for us to get together, but it didn't stop us having one of our best years yet!
