Here's a brief overview of what the Community Food Systems Team has been up to lately and some opportunities to get involved:
  • Our colleagues, Laura Brown, Amber Canto and Steve Deller, will be presenting a working paper entitled: “Local Foods and Community Health: An Exploratory Analysis”  at the annual meetings of the Mid-Continent Regional Science Associations this May in Kansas City.  The central issues to be addressed are (1) how to empirical measure local foods and community health and (2) are higher concentrations of local foods associated with healthy communities.
  • May 9th- Team member, Amy Korth, will be doing a webinar on strategies to make school breakfast programs successful.  You can register here!
  • UWEX Colleagues, do you have plans to do a bit of outreach for your place-based food systems work?  If so, consider using the team's colorful new retractable banner! (to view banner, click on the photo of it on the lower right-hand side of blog page)
