A Good Friday thought...

Good Friday is the day in which we commemorate the crucifixion of Jesus’ death on the cross.  For those of us who believe, it is a time for celebration. Can you imagine the very first Good Friday?  Those followers of Jesus who were present at his crucifixion had to be in total agony and despair. For them, there was nothing good about that Friday.
I ask you on this Good Friday to pause and reflect on the very first Good Friday. If you were one of Jesus’ followers, what would you feel in that moment?
Until we remind ourselves of the reality of the first Good Friday, we will never truly be able to embrace the grace Jesus displayed on the cross.
Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ!!!

Last week, Joel Hobgood taught from Galatians 3:1-5.  Here are some key points:
  • The law is intended to point people to God, not take the place of grace.  Paul used three forms of persuasion (ethos - credibility,  logic - reasoning, and pathos - emotion) to speak to the Galatians about being fooled.
  • He reminds them that they have been deluded. If the law saved, Christ died for nothing.
  • It is humbling to realize how easy it is to forget the cross ... to move toward the things we DO or DON'T do as the important things in our walk with Christ, thereby complicating the Christian walk.
  • Let it be Jesus. It's all about Jesus. We do nothing to earn salvation - simply accept it.
Homework:  How long is your "to-do" list in relation to walking with Christ? Is it time to relax into His grace?

Join us for Easter!

Easter is Sunday, April 4. It will be our first Easter in the new building!  We will be enjoying communion together with individually packaged elements. We suggest that those who plan to watch online prepare elements at home that you can use to receive communion with us in spirit.

We will also be taking pictures that day (hopefully outside), so please be sure to see Beth and Keith Beutler on the back patio by the parking lot as you leave the service to get your family/individual photos taken to be uploaded to the church database and for your enjoyment! Online family? Send a photo to!
