Ever feel like those of us who work in nonprofits are small potatoes compared to business and government leaders? The truth is, we’re bigger and badder than you might think.

This briefing will explore the economic and social importance of our workforce, and how we can help policymakers understand and support the critical role nonprofit workers play in communities.

First we’ll get a national overview from the Johns Hopkins University’s Center for Civil Society Studies - which has pioneered research on the economic impact of the nonprofit workforce through their Nonprofit Economic Data ("NED") project).

Then we’ll dig into state and local perspectives from leaders of nonprofit associations in  New York City, California, and Michigan, three major hub of the nonprofit workforce.
