Where: Niven Community Garden in Moyle Park

Join a late summer work bee event in the Niven garden. We will be building more boxes and moving soil. Bring a shovel, work gloves, and a hammer if you have any available. Your support is very much appreciated; we couldn't do it without you!

If you have any questions, please call Katarina Carthew at 445-5300.
Weledeh Harvest Activity and Potluck BBQ
When: Wednesday September 3 2014, from 3:30-5pm and 5:00-7:00pm.
Where: Weledeh Garden

Weledeh students have their harvest activity planned for Wed. Sept. 3 from 3:30-5:00pm.
Volunteer gardeners are very welcome as we need extra adults to help with digging, compost removal, and washing.

The harvest potluck BBQ will follow the harvest from 5:00-7:00pm.

All Yellowknife Community Garden Collective (YCGC) gardeners are welcome!

For more information or if you have additional questions, please email Elizabeth Monroe at emonroe@ycs.nt.ca
Harvesting and Donations
A friendly reminder that Yellowknife Gardeners (except Weledeh, who have donated their 25% to student gardeners from Weledeh School) are obligated to dedicate 25% of their plot to grow food that is donated to local food security organizations. Gardeners weigh and record all donations. Click
here for a list of some of the organizations that receive donations.

In regards to harvesting, if you are unable to harvest all of the vegetables from your plot this season, please let the Garden Board or your Site Manager know so we can have the extra produce donated to one of the organizations listed on our website. It would be a shame for all of that beautiful food to go to waste!

If you have questions, always feel free to ask the Garden Board or your Site Manager. Happy gardening!

Volunteering:

With the upcoming harvest season at the forefront of our minds remember that we are all part of a Community Garden. Please participate in the site chores, work bees, and events for the remainder of the season to keep our gardens growing healthy and beautiful.
In your garden shed there is a "Chores List"; please sign up for something that you can do. Happy Gardening!
