New EIP Water Steering Group gives strategic impulses

EU water policy framework review

The ERRIN Water and Processing Industry WG meeting on 29 September in Brussels included presentations by Pavel Misiga (Head of Unit Water, Directorate-General Environment) and Guido Schmidt (Head of the EIP Water Secretariat) that reflected on the water policy framework and the status of EIP Water.

India-EU Water Partnership MoU

A 5-year agreement was struck on October 7 between the government of India and the European Commission to collaborate on environmental and water challenges.

AfriAlliance up and running to tackle water challenges

Since launching in March 2016, AfriAlliance has quickly got up to speed with 5 African – European Action Groups formed and 2 networking events coming up.

Calling on innovators interested in the Arabian Gulf markets

BLUE DANUBE - Danube Transnational Programme hosts partnership workshop in Bucharest

September 29 saw some 250 water experts descend on Bucharest to further partnerships to protect the river Danube proactively with innovative projects.

Water featured heavily in applications for Innovation Deals

Among the 32 applications received for an “Innovation Deal for a Circular Economy”, a good portion were water related. 5 applicants will be chosen for the “fast-track” programme to “shorten the time between moment of inspiration and market uptake”.

City Blueprints showcase their work

6 years of work is showcased in the latest e-brochure to be published by the City Blueprints Action Group. They’ve also been in high demand to share their expertise at 5 international conferences and have produced two new videos featuring their methodology and case studies from Quito, Amsterdam and Melbourne.

Smart Rivers Action Group hosts international guests in Moldova

After taking part in the Smart River Conference in Ferrara, Italy, collaborators paid a visit to Moldova early October to forge stronger partnerships on river basin management.

North American “LIFT” innovation platform launched

The Water Environment & Reuse Foundation (WE&RF) and the Water Environment Federation (WEF) have launched the Leaders Innovation Forum for Technology (LIFT) - an online platform that networks people, facilitates technology scans and lists projects products, and test/demonstration facilities. EIP Water and WE&RF will be exchanging data to aid innovators on both sides of the Atlantic.
