EUWIC Update

The EUWIC in a nutshell

  • The EU Water Innovation Conference 2019 is scheduled for Thursday, December 12 2019. The conference will take place in the Palacio de Congresos de Zaragoza, Spain, and will start at 10:00 am, registration will be open from 9:00 (coffee and small snacks provided), with an exciting programme, including high-level representatives and motivated speakers from the European Commission, UNEP, JRC, EIB, public authorities, private business and research an academic institutions.
  • 29 different side meetings will take place on December 11 between 9:00 and 18:00 at the conference venue, and address in-depth topics which the conference will only have a brief look at, such as managed aquifer recharge, innovative irrigation and farming practices, water management in the food industry, Lindane pollution remediation, illegal water use detection and many more. At these meetings, lessons learned from Horizon 2020 and Life projects will be shared and discussed. The meetings offer great opportunities to expand your technical network and get a taste on the latest innovations in each sector. More details about the meetings and how to register can be found here.
  • If you are interested in joining us and colleagues at social events such as the welcome reception on December 11, networking cocktail on December 12 back to back with the conference and/or site visits on December 13, you can register here.
  • Furthermore, we aim to organise the conference as green as possible. One of our goals is to raise awareness among all organising partners and suppliers as well as participants of the event. This includes e.g. the compensation of the CO2-footprint caused by the event by planting trees, minimizing the use of single used plastics, provide regional food, use of recycled PET lanyards, no printed conference material will be offered, etc. More details about this can be found here. In the registration link of the side events, we kindly ask you to provide information on your travel plans for a better-planned compensation.
Last but not least: We invite you to promote and comment on the conference via Twitter using #EUWIC and #CleanWaterEU as the official conference hashtags.
