Upcoming presentation - Reducing harm in licensed venues: good laws and efficient, effective enforcement are the keys
The foundation will host a presentation by Peter Miller, a principal research fellow and co-director of the violence prevention group at Deakin University’s School of Psychology on 28 August 2014.
Peter Miller has led extensive work on the effects of Responsible Service of Alcohol and the regulation of drinking culture in venues. He has overseen Australia’s largest study in patron behaviour, Patron Offending and Intoxication in the Night-time Entertainment Districts. This collaboration between law enforcement organisations and six universities involved 7,000 interviews and 900 observations across five sites.
During this presentation, he will report on this work and discuss what can be applied to the gambling context.
When: Thursday, 28 August 2014, 12:15 – 1:30pm
Where: Victorian Responsible Gambling Foundation, Level 6, 14-20 Blackwood Street, North Melbourne
