Winter is coming... let's get ready to quill.

As sad as I am to acknowledge that summer is over, I am equally thrilled that there will be a lot more time available for my favorite pastime: quilling! And it is such a good time to be part of this amazing paper movement - there is a new Quill-Along project just around the corner, a bunch of new paper colors and quilling projects that will be available very soon & the 2016 winner of our annual quilling contest is about to be announced {SQUEE!} Keep on reading to get all the deets and other paper goodness (and if you make it to the end, there's a little something for you too!)

We Have Our 2016 LC 3RD Annual Quilling Contest Winners!

This year's contest was full of amazing projects & over 60 entries! It was harder than ever to choose the winners who will take home over $550 in prizes from Little Circles Shop. Luckily, due to a change in the judging process, both the public and the judges were able to vote for and praise as many entries as they wish and the numbers tallied in the final stage determined the winners. It was very, very close.... the top 6 entries scored within just 10 points of one another! However, there has to be a winner - so here they are:

A TIE.
2ND Place

Congratulations to both Jennifer Grier & Radeeka Nuwanthi who both scored an equal amount of points to tie for 2nd place. After much thought, we have decided to add the 2nd place prize ($150) and the 3RD place prize ($75) together and then split it between the two winners. Congratulations ladies! Both entries are incredible works of art.

A little about the voting...

Each contestant in this year's contest was first put through the process of a public vote that counted as 1/3 of the final score. The remaining points were determined by last year's contest winner, Debbie Brown & Little Circle's owner, Erin Curet in 4 equal categories: Creativity (25%), Originality (25%), Technical Skills (25%) & Photography (25%). The top entries in this year's contest scored very high in all four areas and the public vote.

The 1ST Place Winner of the Grand Prize from Little Circles is....

Congratulations to this year's winner Ong Lee Cheng! Your quilled mosaic is beyond beautiful and we are so happy to have it represent the LC contest this year!! We are more than confident that you will put the prize of $300 worth of quilling supplies to good use! Annnnd..... we will look forward to judging the 2017 LC quilling contest with you next October ;)
