Countdown to Pub Day!

April 18th is coming soon. I'll be celebrating and reading at Point Reading Series in Providence - join me! Then save the date for my book launch party at the Armory in East Greenwich, RI. April 25th college keg party with a DJ playing 80s music, of course! Email me if you'd like to be added to the list.

Happy New Year!

We're finally in the year when my book-baby will be released into the world! My dream-come-true year.

Ever since I was five years old, I wanted to be an author. I would write stories and poems and I took it all very seriously. In fifth grade, I even mailed off five chapters of a manuscript to a Big Five publisher in NYC. I got my first rejection letter at 10 years old!

I'm glad you're along for the journey as I realize this lifelong dream.

Book Buzz

Thank you for your support as my dream of being an author comes true this year.

If you're out and about, I would appreciate if you could ask your local library and local bookstores to order the book. It’s available for them to order through Ingram Publisher Services (they may ask). THANK YOU!

And here's a fun article with 8 ways to help support a friend’s debut book.
Happy New Year and Many Thanks!

January 10th at Amy Poeppel's book launch party in NYC. Wonderful to meet other debut novelists, Tiffany Jackson (Alledgedly) and Jenni Walsh (Becoming Bonnie) too.
Book tour plans are underway for the spring and summer.

Book and Vodka Pairing

I'm going to start offering wine pairings with the books I recommend, however, this month's reading selection requires vodka instead.

I recently read Amy Poeppel's debut novel, SMALL ADMISSIONS, a witty and funny story "about Kate, a young woman unexpectedly thrust into the cutthroat world of New York City private school admissions as she attempts to understand city life, human nature, and falling in love."

SMALL ADMISSIONS takes helicopter parenting to a whole new level and underscores the importance of empowering kids and giving them guidance but space to make mistakes and forge their own path. It's a witty story with messages on the importance of family, sisters, and friends in our lives.

I also really liked picking out the big pitchfork in the book (you'll recognize him quickly) and there were several good steak knives. I'd maybe label Kate's dad a spoon - I'll have to ask Amy what she thinks!

In honor of Kate and the crazy parents she deals with, I've asked the experts at The Savory Grape wine shop to select a vodka to pair with SMALL ADMISSIONS. Owner, Jessica Granatiero suggests a truly artisan cocktail with Hanson's Sonoma organic vodka (of course, organic for the NYC private school set, right?).
