Time Is Ticking
 
Another day passes by, another week and then a month.  Before we know it, we are buying a fresh calendar for the new year.  As we grow older, the years seem to pass even more rapidly due to the lack of life-changing achievements we once had, such as school, jobs, buying a home, marriage or pregnancy.  We come and go doing what I call day-to-day maintenance.  Nothing more, nothing less, along with nothing new and nothing personally memorable.  This made up many years of my life.  I can reflect back on years that seem a blur without a single noted accomplishment. I had dreams and fantasies of a life I was not living.  I envisioned a healthy active life filled with work that was rewarding and exciting.  This was something I thought about daily for years while I went on maintaining my life of ill health, obesity and depression.  

You can change all of this with a little guidance, action and inspiration.  Life-changing events, memories and accomplishments can be a part of our daily schedule, filling in this year's Calendar of Achievements.  We can daydream about what we want to achieve or we can take action to get the ball rolling.  Jerry and I are excited to guide you through the steps to get started.
  1. Transition your hopes and dreams to active brainstorming sessions
  2. Create an action plan of how you will implement these ideas
  3. Commit to your plan by officially adding daily activities to your calendar
  4. Follow through with commitments
  5. Document achievements in your Calendar of Achievements
  6. Announce your commitment and what you have accomplished so far
  7. Invite others to join you
  8. Share your excitement about goal achievement
Teamwork is fun!  The best way to round up a supportive friend or group is to be excited, have personal confidence, and express your solid commitment to follow through.  This will pique interest and create more excitement around what you are doing.  Jerry has mastered the art of this.  He doesn't ask people to join him to achieve his latest goal. He talks about how great it is and the expected outcome of the action he is taking.  The excitement he expresses about what he has committed to accomplish inspires many to not only support him, but to join him.
